Years ago I had a picture of Jesus on my altar; it had arrived in the mail addressed “Resident–To a friend” and was suggested that I keep it as a book marker or a keepsake and return the attached postcard to the ministry. I doubt I did that, as I had no interest in getting involved in a church. I wasn’t raised Christian…but I wasn’t exactly raised NOT Christian. My mom had encouraged us to have a spiritual life, including prayer and a relationship with the Divine, and to explore and be open to many teachings. Much of my extended family was VERY Christian, whatever that means…but to me it meant JUDGEMENT…so I had a bit of a bad taste in my mouth from that…but it did not negate my appreciation of teachings from the Bible that resonated for me. One was on the this “keepsake bookmark”:
“And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.” St.Matthew 21:22
At the time, WOW, that blew my mind, as it completely aligned with the studies of the Law of Attraction that I was doing, not to mention yogic techniques of manifestation. (The text was color coded just as it is above too.) When I did my meditations, usually of a yogic/tantric origin, I also read this message from Jesus and felt it with my whole heart. Right next to it, I had another message that I had found on a bulletin board in a laundromat:
And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
(Again, color coded just as above.) I had had this one even longer and so loved the reminder that well doing would be rewarded in due time…again not so different than the Law of Karma I studied in yoga. Life had not been easy for me, but this was a consolation.
So, last week in the Master Key Lesson 11 what other than the same message was given: “What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall receive them.” (Mark 11:24) Now I can’t speak to the difference in reference, because honestly, I have never read much of the Bible, but that aside, the message was the same. And not ironically, I had been thinking about the “bookmark keepsake” because I knew it was stashed in one of the boxes I had brought back from storage recently. Literally, the next day, I unpacked it. What?! Yeah. Coincidence? I think not.
The “Endurance” card was right next to it and…MIND BLOWN…it completely correlated with Scroll 3 in “GSW”, which we had just started a week before: “I will persist until I succeed…If I persist, if I continue to try, if I continue to charge forward, I will succeed…The prizes of life are at the end of each journey, not near the beginning; and it is not given to me to know how many steps are necessary in order to reach my goal…Always will I take another step…I will never consider defeat…I will toil and I will endure…I will ignore obstacles at my feet and keep mine eyes on the goals above my head, for I know that where dry desert ends, green grass grows.”
Coincidence? I think not. But why, say I, not a coincidence?
MKL 11, intro: “…when you put the law of attraction into operation you must remember that you are starting a train of causation for good or otherwise which may have endless possibilities. …like attracts like in the mental world…”
Because maybe I started the train of causation bringing me to the Master Keys years ago, just by opening my mind to these simple Bible verses, despite my aversion to Christianity at the time. Like attracted like…years later.
MKL 12:22: “Things are created in the mental or spiritual world before they appear in the outward act or event. By the simple process of governing our thought forces today, we help create the events which will come into our lives in the future, perhaps even tomorrow. Educated desire is the most potent means of bringing into action the law of attraction.”
Because maybe the residue of these lessons in my mental and spiritual world brought them back around for a second study. Because maybe simply thinking on them, the physical representations, knowing they were near again, helped correlate their reappearance with the corresponding Master Key lessons. My educated desire of embodying these concepts brought them back to me, twofold.
MKL 12:20: “It is the operation of this marvelous law of attraction which has caused men in all ages and all times to believe that there must be some personal being who responded to their petitions and desires, and manipulated events in order to comply with their requirements.”
And Divine “intervention” was none other than the power of our own thought, our own creation. And thinking, I created. And believing, I received.
Coincidence? I think not.
